Opal® Apples Participate in National Tour of Consumer Events Around the US

YAKIMA, Wash. - April 24, 2017- Opal®, the highly-acclaimed apple creating a frenzy in the category, appeared on multiple occasions around the United States from January through April to the cheers of existing fans and those trying the crispy, flavorful and sweet apple for the first time. Events took place from coast to coast and included races, family expos and festivals where Opals were distributed to rave reviews.

"These are the best apples I've ever tasted," asserted one event attendee. "Oh my gosh, these are so good," gushed another. Consumers were thrilled with the sweet taste and crisp texture of the Opal, leaving many wanting more. "These are ridiculously delicious," exclaimed yet another satisfied attendee. "I normally only eat red apples, but these surely will take their place!"

Available in both conventional and organic varieties, Opals are well known for their bright yellow skin, distinctive crunch, sweet yet tangy flavor and natural resistance to oxidation - meaning they're very slow to brown. Opals were not only handed out to participants at each stop on the tour, but were featured in on-site announcements, social media call-outs prior to and during events, gift bags, coupon offerings and even Opal juggling.

Opal apples were distributed at events in Santa Monica and San Francisco, Calif.; Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, and Miami, Fla.; Seattle, Wash.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Atlanta, Ga.; and Dallas, Texas. Thousands of consumers throughout the country were introduced to the Opal as more than 30,000 pounds of apples made it into the hands of fans young and old.
