No Butter Needed: Amaize Completes Another Sucessful Season

CALDWELL, ID; October 7, 2016 - Amaize Sweet Corn, the rare, white sweet corn known for its distinct pop and crunch wrapped up another successful season with consumers, retailers and media all responding with overwhelming positivity to "the best sweet corn ever."

 

Amaize's sixth season has come to an end, but consumer demand certainly remains strong. Consumers sampled the corn at many in-store retail events such as grower days, store grand openings and Amaize summer tour meet and greets with George Crookham, CEO of Crookham Company and "The Colonel of Corn" himself.  Consumer feedback was tremendously positive, with customers making comments such as, "You don't need any butter on this corn" and "this corn really is amazing." Others were shocked at its unique crunchy texture saying "this is so crunchy, it's like an apple."

As the Amaize program gains momentum year after year there is a noticeable increase in retailer involvement.  In 2016 this included sales contests, in-store demos, display contests and more. As a result of great retailer participation, consumer demand increased incredibly, causing some retailers to come close to selling out of the product during events throughout the season.

 

Consumer media responded positively as well to this very unique, rare white sweet corn variety. George Crookham traveled to markets around the U.S to promote the brand, appearing on four cooking segments. Crookham used the opportunities to educate fans on his journey to developing Amaize and shared his tips for properly preparing corn.
